Who We Are

Founded by local veterans in 2018, the Veterans Outreach Center of Benewah County exists to ensure no veteran has to face life’s challenges alone. We are a veteran-led, community-supported nonprofit built on honesty, respect, and camaraderie.

What We Do

We provide practical support, connection, and fellowship tailored to veterans and their families. Our core services include:

  • Peer & Mental Health Support

  • Resource Navigation (VA, medical, employment)

  • Food & Basic Needs Assistance

  • Fellowship & Community Events

  • Mentorship & Life Skills

Why It Matters

The bond between veterans lasts a lifetime. At the Outreach Center, Veterans Helping Veterans isn’t just a phrase — it’s a way of life. When a veteran finds connection and support, we have then upheld our lifelong commitment. We are committed to helping our veterans build a life worth living.

“We are family here. We made a lifetime commitment then, and we stand by it still.”

Hank Thornton

We understand. If the center feels crowded, we’ve got options: a private sound-proof office or one-on-one visits—even in your home if that’s easier.

No. All services are provided at no cost to veterans and their families.
